BCPs 37, Prov 3

Psalm 37:1-7, Proverbs 3:5-8 RSV

  1. Fret not yourself because of the wicked,

    2. be not envious of wrongdoers!

  2. For they will soon fade like the grass,

    3. and wither like the green herb.

  3. Trust in the Lord, and do good;

    4. so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security.

  4. Take delight in the Lord,

    5. and he will give you the desires of your heart.

  5. Commit your way to the Lord;

    6. trust in him, and he will act.

  6. He will bring forth your vindication as the light,

    7. and your right as the noonday.

  7. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him;

    8. fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way,

    over the man who carries out evil devices!

  1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

    2. and do not rely on your own insight.

  2. In all your ways acknowledge him,

    3. and he will make straight your paths.

  3. Be not wise in your own eyes;

    4. fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

  4. It will be healing to your flesh

    5. and refreshment to your bones.
