  1. The Fool says in his heart, "There is no God."

    2. He is corrupt, and he does terrible deeds;

    There is not one who does good.

  2. The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind

    3. To see if there are any on earth who are wise,

    Any who seek after God.

  3. They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse;

    4. There are none who do good, no not one.

  4. Don't they know, evil ones who consume your people like

    5. Like they eat bread

    And do not call upon the Lord?

  5. They shall be in great fear,

    6. God is with the righteous ones.

  6. Though they block, they confound the plans of the poor,

    7. But the Lord's their refuge.

  7. And they pray deliverance comes

    8. It comes for Israel, it comes from Zion!

    When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people,

    Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad.
