Psalm 2, (Based on the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicised Edition)

Lyrics and music by Jason Silver

  1. Why do the nations conspire,

  2. And the people plot in vain?

  3. The kings of earth set themselves,

  4. Against the Lord and his anointed, saying,

  5. "Let us burst their bonds asunder,

  6. "And we'll cast their cords from us."

  7. He sits in heaven and laughs;

  8. And the Lord gets angry too.

  9. Then he will speak in his wrath,

  10. And terrify them in his fury, saying,

  11. "I have set my king in Zion,

  12. "Set him on my holy hill."

  13. I'll tell you what the Lord said,

  14. He said to me, "You are my son;

    "Today I've begotten you.

  15. "So ask of me, and tell me what you want.

  16. "I will give you all the nations,

    "And the ends of the earth are yours."

  1. Now therefore, O kings, be wise;

  2. Be warned, rulers of the earth.

  3. And serve our Yahweh with fear,

  4. And with trembling you

  5. Should kiss his feet,

  6. Or he will be angry,

    and you'll perish in the way.

    Happy are all who take refuge in him.

    Happy are all who take refuge in him.

    Happy are all who take refuge in him.

    Happy are all who take refuge in him.
