Psalm 7, (Based on the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicised Edition)
Lyrics and music by Jason Silver
O Lord my God, in you I take refuge;
Save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me,
Or like a lion they will tear me apart;
They will drag me away, with no one to rescue.
O Lord my God, if I, I have done this,
If there is wrong in my hands,
If I've repaid my ally with harm, or
Plundered my foe without cause,
Then let the enemy pursue and overtake me,
Trample my life to the ground,
And lay my soul in the dust.
Selah
Rise up, O Lord, rise up in your anger;
Lift yourself against the fury of my enemies;
Awake, my God; you've appointed judgment.
Let the assembly of peoples gathered around you,
And over it take your seat on high.
The Lord will judge everyone;
Judge me, O Lord, by my righteousness
And integrity that's in me
O let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
Establish the righteous ones,
You test their minds and their hearts.
God is my shield,
Who saves the upright in heart.
A righteous judge,
Who is indignant each day.
If one doesn't repent,
God will whet his sword;
He is bending a bow;
He's prepared his weapons,
Making his arrows fiery shafts.
See how they can, how they conceive evil,
And they are pregnant with mischief, and bring forth their lies.
They make a pit, digging it out, and fall
Into the hole, and fall into the hole they've made.
Their mischief comes, returns on their own heads,
And on their heads violence falls.
I will give to, give the Lord the thanks
Thanks due to his righteousness,
And sing the praise to the name of the Lord,
Sing praise to the Most High.
Sing praise to the Most High.
