The Coming Increase of Christ in His House

Preface

The Scriptures reveal God’s plan to build for His own eternal habitation a house according to His own specifications. Over the many centuries, He has been quietly proceeding with His agenda. At the same time, unbelievers live their lives oblivious both to what He is doing and of His ultimate goal for humanity.

Sadly, many Christians seem unaware as well. But God has called us to recognize and submit to Him in His purpose. This means not only yielding to His sovereign work in our lives by the Holy Spirit, but also when He speaks to us through others. Amazingly, God has chosen to demonstrate profound mercy by revealing himself both to and through imperfect people.

The revelation of God in Christ was perfect; the revelation of God in and through His people has great mixture. But God is at work in us to increase the purity and power of that expression and bring it to a measured fullness. When He does so, Israel will become jealous when she sees what God is doing, and then suddenly her eyes will be opened to the realization that God is revealing her long awaited Messiah through a people among the nations.

Throughout Church history, God’s message has always been Christ; His strategy has been simple. He will bring the beauty and glory of His Son into increasing clarity in His Church before the eyes of the whole world. When this fullness of the Gentiles is realized, the nation of Israel will turn back to Him and God will bring the Earth into the final phase of His work among men.
