Fulfilling the Mystery

Conclusion

While I know that many believers await two specific prophets to arise and be martyred in Jerusalem, it may be that the fulfillment of John’s vision of two witnesses has been going on for centuries and is even occurring today. I believe that it is imperative for the Church to come to grips with the present relevance and application of the Book of Revelation. All of Scripture is for our edification and is for us now. The enemy has sought to nullify for us whatever part of God’s word that he can and to some extent, he has succeeded with the last book of the Bible. Many believers just throw up their hands and conclude that John’s visions are just too difficult to comprehend. The result is often an uneasy feeling that the future is going to be filled with earthquakes, hail, plagues, falling stars, etc. And we think, “Good grief! Who wants to face such a future?” But the presence of the future broke into human history 2000 years ago, and the great spiritual war for the soul of humanity is well under way. We must wake up to the war in our present generation. We must discern the holy of holies in God’s house, lay hold of that realm and describe it to others. There is a call going forth from eternity. It is a call to intimacy with God. Do you hear it? And if you have heard, are you responding?

Lord, I thank you that You don’t leave us to face the locusts alone, but that You arise clothed in a cloud, shouting like the Lion of Judah, placing Your feet on the sea and the land. You are indeed the Lord of the whole earth. And you are calling us to become men and women of the holy of holies, right in the midst of our present circumstances. Father, forgive us for settling for salvation at a distance. Forgive us for being content with having a measure of intimacy. Make us detectives of the holy of holies. Make us to be a people who want to understand this realm, learn it, compare notes with each other, and cry out to You for Your wisdom. Lord, arise and reveal to us this whole realm. We long to be overwhelmed by the beauty of Your presence. We do not condemn those standing at a distance. Lord, may our words and lives start to describe this place in such a way that they would begin to have an increasing thirst for You. Father, may Your outer court people all across the earth begin to draw near so that the Bride would come forth. Make the whole city of God consist of bridal people, oh Lord. Draw me to Yourself. Draw the reader of this short book to Yourself. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
