  1. The Lord answer you in the day of trouble!

    2. The name of the God of Jacob protect you!

  2. May he send you help from the sanctuary,

    3. And give you support from Zion.

  3. May he remember all your offerings,

    4. And favour your burnt sacrifices.

  4. May he grant you your heart"s desire,

    5. And fulfil all your plans.

  5. May we shout for joy o'er your victory,

    6. And in God's name set up our banners.

    May the Lord fulfil all your petitions.

  6. Now I know that God will help us;

    7. He will answer us from his holy heavens

    With mighty victories by his right hand.

  7. Some take pride in chariots,

    8. Some take pride in horses,

    But our pride is in the name of the Lord our God.

  8. They will stumble and fall,

    9. But we shall rise and stand up.

  9. We give victory to the king, our Lord;
