Psalm 19, (Based on the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicised Edition)

Lyrics and music by Jason Silver

  1. The heavens are telling the glory of God;

  2. And the firmament proclaims his handiwork.

  3. Day to day pours forth speech,

  4. And night to night declares His knowledge.

  5. There is no speech, nor are there words;

  6. Nor voice is heard;

  7. Yet the sound goes out through all the earth,

  8. And their words to the end of the world.

    In the heavens the Lord sets a tent for the sun,

  9. Which comes out like a bridegroom from his home,

  10. Like a strong man, it runs along its course with joy.

  11. Its rising from the start, its circuit to the end;

  12. Rising from the start, sets in the heavens,

    And nothing can hide from its heat.

  13. The law of the Lord is perfect,

  14. Reviving the soul;

    The decrees of the Lord are sure,

    Making wise the simple;

  15. The precepts of the Lord are right,

  16. Rejoicing the heart;

    The commandment of the Lord is clear,

    Enlightening the eyes;

  17. The fear of the Lord is pure,

  18. Enduring forever;

    The ordinances of the Lord are true

    And righteous completely.

  19. More to be wanted are they than fine gold,

  20. Sweeter too, than honey drippings from the comb.

  21. By them is your servant warned;

  22. In keeping them is great reward.

  23. But who can detect their errors? Who can tell?

  24. Clear me from hidden faults.

  25. Also from proud thoughts

  26. Do not give them dominion over me.

  27. Let the words of my mouth

  28. The meditation of my heart

    Be acceptable to you,

    O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
