Psalm 9, (Based on the New Revised Standard Version Bible: Anglicised Edition)

Lyrics and music by Jason Silver

  1. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;

  2. I will tell all your wonderful deeds.

  3. I will be glad, exulting in you Lord;

  4. I will sing praise

    Sing to your name,

    O Most High.

  5. My enemies turned back, they will stumble before you.

  6. For from your throne you have shown me justice.

  7. You've rebuked the nations, and destroyed the wicked ones;

  8. Their cities are in ruins, and no one remembers.

  9. The Lord upon his throne

  10. Judges all with righteousness;

  11. To all people he makes equal judgement.

  12. Lord, you are a stronghold for the weak and the oppressed,

  13. And those who know your name have trust in you,

  14. For you have not forsaken those who seek you.

  15. Sing praises to the Lord, tell his deeds among them all

  16. He who makes it right, knows the plight of the afflicted

  17. Be gracious to me Lord, see how I suffer from those who hate

  18. You are the one who lifts me from the gates of death,

  19. So that I may rejoice in your deliverance.

  20. The nations have sunk in the pit that they have made;

  21. Caught in their own net, the wicked are snared in the work of their hands.

  22. And in this judgement we can see the Lord,

  23. The wicked are gone

  24. The needy, nor the poor will not be forgotten

  25. Rise up now, O Lord! Do not let men be defiant

  26. Let the nations, be be judged now before you.

  27. Put fear in them, Lord; so they know they are just human.
