Freedom in God's Divine Order for Women
This book has been produced and published by the Saugerties Christian Fellowship Church, Second Edition, 2006.
I would like to acknowledge several people for their contributions to this book. Special thanks to Dale Rumble, my spiritual father, and Donald Rumble, my co-elder, for his theological input and patient proofreading forays into several preliminary versions of God’s Divine Order and for their work on the second edition, Freedom in God’s Divine Order for Women. Thanks also to Roger Balzan, my co-elder, and William Cadden, my son-in-law, for their suggestions for improving the book and giving me a sanity check of its contents. I especially appreciate the contributions of my friend Dr. Douglas Kook who, through his knowledge of Biblical languages, provided a unique proofreading of this book with special attention to my translation of Hebrew and Greek words.
I also thank James Garrett for his insights as a Bible scholar and writer. His recommendations on content, especially in my handling of hermeneutic methods and the Greek words kephale and laleo. I am very grateful to David Huston for his excellent editoral comments and input on content and his generous offer to edit the final version. I appreciate the editorial comments of Vera Brennan and her suggestions for changing the order of some of the chapters. These changes had to wait for the second edition and it improved the presentation of the book.
I very much appreciate my loving wife for her patience with the thousands of hours needed to research and write this book. The project took a lot of time away from things that needed to be done around the house and, even more importantly, time I could have spent with her. She also provided important feminine insights from the perspective of a wife of an elder and a woman in the church.
The cover was the prophetic work of our family friend Claudia Engel. Her artwork and her ability to capture the essence of a message in visual form are very much appreciated.
